A serious music insight from Toto’s song “Africa” makes me wonder what becomes of the broken hearts. If we only knew what is a broken heart.

Today, I read an article stating that all living humans come from Africa. I have never been to Africa but I guess this is a bold statement. That might be why I enjoy so much African American music.

When I listen to Stevie Wonder, I think of great songs like “Superstition”. Seven years of bad luck and good things in the past. Or maybe Bob Marley and his wonderful reggae.

In this bright future, you can’t forget the past. That’s a good idea because we learned recently that the subconscious was ruling the world 90% of the time. The subconscious remembers the dominant idea and isn’t able to make nuances like the conscious mind.

I don’t know about you but it sounds so true.

A Headache In A Suitcase, We’re Stars

Each time I want to change apartments, it takes 3 years to get over it. This is a privilege I earned from my experiences in the 16th district of Paris. You can check out but you can never leave.

When I decided to move from my flat, I realized everybody I used to care for are long gone. Some are in Asia, some live in another district of Paris. I must say I’m a bit sick and tired of that witchcraft.

Today, big companies emphasize that young people should be able to work abroad. That means being able to move from a flat easily. Everybody knows it’s not easy and the reason why might be the neighbors. Some neighbors are just too paranoiac or like too much a protocol to be of any help.

When your roommate receives lovers almost every night, I guess you can call it a meditation experience.

Children, Be Safe And Don’t Get Hurt

Lately, I was wondering what would happen if I stopped playing my guitar. When I don’t play, no sound comes from her. Absolutely no sound. I guess then I’m having a problem with severity and cruelty.

Even though I know a lot of songs, my heart plays an old refrain. I’m like a butterfly caught in a hurricane. Should I love cannabis or another drug? After all, a drug should give a direction to the auditing firm who inspects me.

With a rare independence of the mind, I declare myself intolerant to exercise.

Everybody knows this is fake and maybe we appreciate efforts to make it real. Puppets show remind us what’s going on behind the scenes. But what if life wasn’t a joke? I mean Bob Dylan was formal, there must be some kind of way out of here!

The Doors of Perception and Information

In other words, the subconscious mind doesn’t evolve. This is huge because it means 90% of your life is stuck with a dominant idea. There’s no problem when it’s positive.

Maybe a basic function of the brain is criticism. They say a lot of critics just failed at the basic stuff of the job. For example, music critics are failed instrumentalists. But maybe they have a big culture.

I’m on the bridge and I’m confused. Pleasure spiked with pain. I can’t find the love I want. And I’m starting to decompose. According to Freud, the Oedipus complex rules during our lifetime.

Claude Levi-Strauss, a French anthropologist, and ethnologist (whose work was key in the development of the theory of structuralism and structural anthropology) thought that the incest taboo was the basis of all societies.

Don’t Cry Sister, It Will Be Alright

An incest taboo is any cultural rule or norm that prohibits sexual relations between closely related persons. All human cultures have norms that exclude certain close relatives from those considered suitable or permissible sexual or marriage partners, making such relationships taboo.

However, different norms exist among cultures as to which blood relations are permissible as sexual partners and which are not. The sexual relations between related persons which are subject to the taboo are called incestuous relationships.

They say when it comes to dating you should remain close but not too much. I guess the theory of the safe distance applies here. This theory states we can be all-stars if we find the good distance.

For example, if I remain close with my little boy but not too much, I will get over that period. And then I will head to the nearest jam session and have fun. You know what I’m talking about: you don’t watch out, it sticks to you.

You Wake The Morning (In A Stranger’s Coat)

As a conclusion, maybe we’re all frightened of the future and what we will become. But maybe if we find the safe distance and stop playing with our karma apocalypse, we will look above and not down.

I have found the code that should free me. Why is a good question. That’s because someone owes me 25 million dollars and he doesn’t want to pay me. What distance should I have with those people?

I guess I should stop talking to them. After all, there’s nothing goin’ on but the profitability. And I should aim for a 5 to 1 ratio. Maybe that’s why my former employer liked me so much when I was young.

Anyway, I have never been to Africa but maybe it’s time I reconsider my relationship with this continent. African Americans are sure to get some love from me, thanks to the music.

In the next post, will I talk about one of my favorites funk/soul song? Rappers often talk about mothers but they forgot to talk about their sisters!

If you liked that post or more generally my blog, don’t forget to go to my about page for details on “like, share, comment and donate”. In other words, mothers are not that important, it’s your sister the important person.

I've been listening to music for more than 20 years, trying to get a message in each of the 5000 songs I listened to. I'm interested in all topics (sports, art, science, philosophy, health, travel). I connect the dots with contemporary music. This blog will be the result of more than 20 years of work on humanity (ripples in the curvature of spacetime).
