Today I want to talk about fluorescence. Arctic Monkeys deemed some teenagers to be fluorescent but what does it mean exactly?
It means that when they read a book or listened to some music, the energy they reflect is lower than the energy they received. The author of the artwork wanted to give some energy to the audience but the audience finds itself with less energy after listening to a song or watching a show.
Another problem is the following: as soon as the music stops, then you end up as if nothing happened and you stop showing the energy of the song. Fluorescent materials cease to glow nearly immediately when the radiation source stops, unlike phosphorescent materials, which continue to emit light for some time after.
So let me recapitulate the 2 problems of art or knowledge and let’s see if there are solutions:
- when exposed to energy, you don’t reflect the exact energy received,
- unless there’s a perfusion, the energy you were exposed to doesn’t show.
Was That Another Analysis Of Teenage’s Angst?
Now the 2 problems of fluorescent adolescent makes sense. And that may be why teachers suffer educating our young children. They don’t reflect the energy they received! Furthermore, if you stop working or studying, then the energy doesn’t show.
What do we expect of our young children exactly? When I was a child some days were long and I guess I couldn’t wait to be grown. And here I am now with you: I’m singing sad songs almost everyday.
Yet I have fond memories of my childhood compared to today: that’s because I knew how to rest. It could also mean I knew how to ask for a little borrowing. Or maybe I wasn’t ashamed to share even my darkest thoughts.
Should Our Hearts Be Open?
It’s as if they were listening to Madonna’s song: they’re frozen because their heart is not open. Today we have children like Greta Thunberg speaking up. But when I was a child nobody asked me what I was thinking. I just tried to adapt even to the stupidest things.
Today I’m paying the price of love or maybe it’s the cost to be the boss and work hard.
But I guess a boss’ job is very easy: he/she has to be really relaxed. He/she shouldn’t hesitate to control (control can be a real pleasure according to Freud). And a boss shouldn’t hesitate to find associates.
Education is a critical matter and this song from Arctic Monkeys clearly exposes the problem. I guess a good education should allow you to not look like a fool when you go to a public place. A good education should also allow you to put up a decent fight.
Will We Spend Our Lives Like Teenagers?
Today I’m wondering if life is always like school. Sometimes I like to think it’s never like school otherwise you will spend your life with serious diseases like puberty and a stranger fever.
Pink Floyd held a grudge toward school. Sarcasm seems to have originated there with people unsure of something.
It seems another big problem at school is how people are pushed to do something crazy and wrong. For example, I was the one who invented ski jumping in Paris during spring. It’s very easy: all you have to do is spend some time in the city, let your enemies come to you and then hide at home and listen to good music with secret service approving.
Make sure to have a beautiful telemark though.
What Do You Mean A Beautiful Landing?
In ski jumping, skiers are required to touch the ground in the Telemark landing style, named after the Norwegian county of Telemark. This involves the landing with one foot in front of the other with knees slightly bent, mimicking the style of Telemark skiing. Failure to execute a Telemark landing leads to the deduction of style points, issued by the judges.
To perform a correct telemark in the city, you have to find the right song and then find a powerful emotion associated. My telemark song was “Boy on the Bridge” by Murray Head. I chose it by free association and fell on my bed: it felt so right.
Most of us live to experience a high in our lives. Maybe you can use drugs or maybe you can use other stuff to feel a high but the landing is critical: free association, music and someone watching you.
The memory of that landing should remind me a basic finding about life: when your whole body is in harmony, beautiful things can happen. The brain can be divided into 3 parts: reptilian, limbic and neocortex. Your body can be separated horizontally (left and right) and vertically (above and below the belt).
Maybe a next post will be about phosphorescent adolescent. Studying them will lead to the discovery of good music.
