What If It Was Time To Say Hello?

There's money and there's life. It's a hard lesson the marketing experts remind us everyday. Here are the testimonials after 1 year of blogging. If you would like to be included in this section, please send me a message. If you don't want to remain anonymous, send me a nice picture of you. Otherwise, only your first name will be displayed.

I don't wonder where you are dear readers because I have a statistic module telling me which country visits that blog. I don't wonder what you do either because you must be like me wondering what are your goals in life (financial and non-financial).

In order to make that blog a good one, I blogged for a year and I'm sharing with you what people are saying so far. That's because everybody is doing it. And this time it could be wise to behave like a sheep!

The arena is empty except for me and you, dear readers. That's why I'm going the distance: if we want to have a healthy future here on Earth, we have to spread good music. I know some people get paid to stun the population, even with stupid music. My first name means "victor of the people" and I will be delighted to take on that challenge.

Was That A Post-Orgasmic Chill?

One day I asked someone to tell me what she thought about my post. I let her read and didn't say a thing to see her reaction. At the end of her read, she told me: "you gave me chills at the end of the post".

It's the cold world and people don't owe anything to anyone. I guess I owe a lot to music since the 60s mainly and maybe a bit before since 60s musician didn't hesitate to cover songs from the beginning of the 20th century.

Blogging is my new toy because I want to blame someone for something and I don't feel a thing now. Except maybe a post-orgasmic chill. My generation and people that are important to me come from Europe and the Mediterranean. But I do like black music like Stevie Wonder or Michael Jackson and the occasional hit like the ones from Grandmaster Flash and Cameo.

How To Find More Than Words.

My cousin told me "she loved the way I played on words". I think I heard a shot then. What I mean is that music is so cool that if you can't find words, you can always create a climate with a song. That might be why U2 was wondering why so many people chose the song "One" from the album "Achtung Baby" to celebrate their marriage.

The song is not about love but was inspired by the band members' fractured relationships and the German reunification. Although the lyrics ostensibly describe "disunity", they have been interpreted in other ways. The song was acclaimed by critics upon its release, and it has since been featured in polls of the greatest songs of all time.

The song is rock ballad played in a 4/4 time signature at a tempo of 91 beats per minute. It includes a small passage in Dorian mode. Musicologists will debate about what climate that kind of chord progression can evoke. Maybe the classic progression of major and minor chords represents life accurately: there are ups and downs!

Why Will Darkness Fall On The City?

One of my acquaintance told me my "blog was very dark (even though it might be awesome for people interested in music)". There's something cool about darkness. Nightlife is an important attraction of many cities and I do feel at ease lying down in bed after spending 16 hours standing or sitting.

The light at the end of the tunnel will maybe knock on your door. Lately, I read that some people jobs was to light a candle in that tunnel so you can get outdoors. I can't help myself but all I see is black.

One day I met the shadow cabinet of a state and I guarantee that their love is so heavy it will make you stagger. Mainly because they've been riding broomsticks since age 14 or 15. And they want to blow all other witches on the scene. Next stop is seeing you in action somewhere (a coffee shop, a bar or maybe a hospital). It's true you only see stars shine when you dim the lights (don't forget to guess the rest).

Two Opinions About The Blog Theme

One of the influencer I tried to reach in the first 3 months of the blog was very clear: "the design looks great and he will make sure to check it out". That guy had blogged a while ago and had interesting topics to deal with such as sexuality, racism, post-traumatic stress, superficiality, destruction of heritage.

  1. Was it a chance to contact that guy and get to know what were the topics of his blog? After all, I'm also Lebanese even though I spent a lot of time in Europe (Paris mainly). Chance is a 4 letter word: nothing happens by chance because it's always the byproduct of some kind of work. For example, I met 2 persons lately to help me with the design of that blog. I just hanged around coffee shops and music hubs.
  2. Was it a design and who is responsible here? When you want to have some conversation, you always have to think of the possible fields. There's a song called "Mission Improbable" I like a lot and the message I remembered from the song was: "here's a lesson: don't mess with me and my crew".

Is Sarcasm And Irony The Dominant Idea?

Some people pointed out the clear "sarcastic and funny orientation" of this blog. I don't mean to be sarcastic; I just write and rewrite (because Hemingway said that "writing is rewriting"). It takes a lot of effort to rewrite and I might hire a historian to do this in my place.

Contrary to the irony, which consists of saying the opposite of what we think by making us understand that we think the opposite of what we say, sarcasm is more difficult to detect. Indeed, to be sarcastic is to say the opposite of what one thinks, without showing that one thinks the opposite of what one says.

Sarcasm and irony can be funny but they also can be intriguing. For example, we remember the message from Jesus centred around the next and forgiving. That might be because Jesus was a cosmic star at age 30 and had to think about the future. Jesus had to forgive a lot of people in the long run because it's so hard sometimes to show respect.
